Spay Neuter Assistance Program

SECOND CHANCES PLUS

In June 2007 SNAP was awarded an outreach grant from PetSmart Charities to fund Second Chances Plus, a follow-up to our successful 2005 grant, Second Chances.

Our "pending" file contains literally hundreds of pet owners who called the SNAP line, qualified for our services, but never sent in the co-payments required to receive their spay/neuter certificates.

Second Chances Plus will continue to enable us to give these pet owners some extra financial assistance which we hope will serve as an added incentive.

This is the third grant SNAP has received from PetSmart Charities. We are very grateful for their support.

SNAP IS FIXIN' NIXA!

Thanks to a generous grant from the Nixa Community Foundation, SNAP can now provide even lower cost certificates to Nixa's low-income pet owners. Our hope is that Nixa will become the first community in the Ozarks with no homeless pets.

Nixa pet owners who need assistance should call us at 417-823-7627.

B-4-5

SNAP supports the concept of B-4-5, which encourages pet owners to get their pets fixed before the age of five months. Spay/neuter B-4-5 has many benefits, none more important than the elimination of "oops" litters resulting from early heat cycles. In addition, spay/neuter B-4-5 has many health benefits such as virtually eliminating the risk of testicular cancer in males and dramatically reducing the incidence of breast cancer in females. To get the word out, SNAP developed a flyer (.pdf file) touting the health and behavioral benefits of spay/neuter B-4-5. Feel free to download and spread the word!
